Worcester Public Library: Your main destination for arts and crafts

Take and Make craft kits are available monthly at all branches of the Worcester Public Library. Each month will feature a different craft to create! Craft along with us by watching the fun, interactive video posted on our website, or complete yours on your own. Craft kits are available first come, first served in limited quantities and are best for ages 5 through 11. Share pictures of your creations on our social media—we’d love to see what you make! In celebration of this delightful monthly program we've rounded up some books that are chock-full of arts and crafts for the whole family! All of these titles are available at the Worcester Public Library!


Art Sparks: Draw, Paint, Make, and Get Creative by Marion Abrams and Hilary Emerson Lay

Some of the projects that don't require a lot of extra materials are:

Out of the Box: 25 Cardboard Engineering Projects for Makers by Jemma Westing

Some of these projects might take some extra time but the end results will be worth it. Each of the projects have a difficulty level meter from easy to hard and great instructions modeling each step.

If you have a lot of cardboard laying around as well as some paints you probably have most of the required materials to make these crafts in your home:

 June is Pride Month! Let's celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community with amazing books and materials. Board Books Grandad’s Camper  by Harry Woodgate This board book is adorably shaped like the camper from the title. It tells the story of a granddaughter who has grown up with stories of her Grandad and his late partner’s trips in their pink camper. Books to Read if You Like Dog Man

The Dog Man movie came out January 31! By now, many of us have read the entire Dog Man series by Dav Pilkey many times over, and we're looking for new books with the same humor and fun that Dog Man brings. Here is a list of books and series to check out if you love Dog Man! Graphic Novels One of the things we love about Dog Man is its graphic novel format. Here are some other graphic novels to pick up.
